ABOUT

Laura Wilson Architecture thrives as a small practice, benefiting from Laura's extensive two-decade experience in the industry and her enduring passion for residential architecture. Laura embarked on the path of sole practice in 2016, following a decade-long tenure at a large Melbourne practice, preceded by early and formative experience in Melbourne and London.

Laura’s mission is to create beautiful, purposeful and environmentally responsible architecture - specialising in new homes, renovations and extensions. Laura enjoys every part of the design and problem solving process that each project brings and loves to create joyful and practical architecture that is underpinned by a solid and practical grasp of optimising space, light, and amenity in compact, often inner suburban settings.

As a sole practitioner, Laura designs and oversees every project from inception to completion, only working on a select few each year. Decades of experience assist in devising practical and beautiful designs for the most challenging of sites and client briefs!

Laura exhibits an attentive approach with her clients, seeking to understand their lifestyle, individual needs and the reasons driving them to build or renovate. This process involves a discerning evaluation of spatial requirements, sometimes resulting in a smaller building footprint than was expected.

LWA is committed to delivering thoughtful and highly responsive outcomes, offering comprehensive architectural services that span from conceptual design through construction documentation and building construction.

Laura is excited to have become a Passive House Designer Certified in 2024 as a commitment to creating environmentally responsible architecture.
